Night after night it’s the same clinic, and the same wooden bench. I’ve been sitting next to her while she tries the best that she can to hide her nervousness. I knew she has been nervous every night we are there. It’s been a month by now.
So, I decided to console her. And I said.
God gave us sickness not for nothing. It’s a test. You are gaining something from it that only you and God know of. Not others. It’s like a secret. It’ll make you a stronger and a better person. I know you’ve been through a lot since you were very young. This is the same clinic I’ve been taking you to, for many years.
Just like when God tests you with sadness and sorrow, Sarah. (That’s her new name I decided to give her today). Changed from Puteri Masthura to Puteri Sarah.
She came out smiling as usual and told me that it’ll be quite sometime before she can stop seeing the doctor.
