Leadership 101

Imagine you have to teach your kid about 'Leadership'. Just what would you tell him? Here's some pointers, I don't have all of them. You can help add if you'd like.

You are the respresentative of the people, therefore do your utmost best to attend to their needs.
You are among them, one of them in fact, so dress like them, eat like them, stay in places like they do.
Listen to what they want, voice their concerns
Be humble
Do not easily show off your authority
Be honest as your work may involve handling people's money
Communicate well with them. Let them know the real issues and every reason for you to formulate any kind of policy or decision
You are not up there as a LEADER therefore do not ever live like a KING
Again, be a down-to earth person
Be fair to all regardless of race, sex and religion
Promote good values, as being practiced in all religions
Put the interest of people in front, always
Keep your family values
Your kids show good example to other kids
Practice democracy and respect the power of the many
The power lies in your hand is the power of the people entrusted to you by the people
Do not be arrogant
Do not be sarcastic
Talk like a person with education
Keep yourself pleasant and calm all the time
Keep touch with the grass roots always
Do not drive a car that the common people cannot afford, remember you are one of them
Live a life to show people that you are a person who really trust in God
Ensure the quality of work
Reward those who have done good deeds for the society
Allow opportunities for those who are capable to contribute and serve the country
Be sensitive and aware of current problems of the people
Be smart and use as many tools as you can to help make life easy for your people
Give them job opportunities
Give them good education
Keep very strong beliefs in God
Remember if somehow you felt strong, GOD is the ALMIGHTY
Do not ever lie to the people. As long as you are being truthful, you will be save
Remember, leaders will one day not become a leader. Let people make their own choices
Follow examples of good leaders around the world, study history
Read books a lot and learn as much

Well, that's about all. Feel free to add. I guess its good to help our kids prepare themselves. They are the future leaders, remember?
